S&P Global: Russia’s Manufacturing PMI falls to 52.6 in June

MOSCOW, Jul 3 (PRIME) -- Russia’s Manufacturing Purchasing Managers’ Index (PMI) fell to 52.6 in June from 53.5 in May, above the no-change mark of 50, S&P Global said in a statement on Monday.

"The upturn slowed slightly from May following softer expansions in output and new orders. Nonetheless, demand growth was sustained as total new sales were supported by a renewed increase in new export orders," the researchers said.

The domestic demand improved in the period, and export sales grew as well on the back of a diversification of the markets. Operating expenses rose at the second highest rate since April 2022 due to an unfavorable exchange rate dynamics, raw material shortages and higher supplier prices. Sales prices also increased. Business outlook of manufacturers for the next year remained upbeat.
